If ICOM A2 clone with WiFi now
I have seen that the most difference between an original BMW ICOM A2 and a clone is that the original has wifi capability, whereas the clone does not.
Today the Eobd2 customer services tell me that their BMW ICOM A2+b+c diagnostic & programming tool now has wifi capability. And I saw a lot of people comment ICOM A2 clones with wifi capability that work reliably.
On the more technical side, I’ve encountered through the grape vine that the new units that they add as a wifi Module is, “a Sparklan WMIA-199N based on an ATHEROS MIMO chip.”
Apparently it is possible to, “get a fully functional Mini PCI port between the layers”(of the ICOM A2’s internal circuit boards that would allow for incorporating a wifi mod).
